We have lessons to suit a wide range of age groups and admit children as early as four years old into the Academy. Lessons are always taken by one of our five CRB checked black belt instructors.

Our lessons held at our centre in Stacksteads six days a week and at Holcombe Brook Sports Club on Tuesday and Thursday evenings cover a variety of physical activity always starting with a warming up session. 

The main content of the lessons depend on the specific areas the instructors wish to work on, this will include:
  • Pad Work - this teaches and develops punching and kicking techniques by using punch bags, wave masters and focus pads.
  • Sparring - further develops technique and helps students learn about the importance of movement and co ordination,. This also takes student fitness to a higher level which in turn builds self confidence.
  • Karate/Jujitsu - teaches students falls, throws and kata’s to enable them to go through our Free style karate grading syllabus.
  • Fitness - students are taken through varying fitness routines to develop their personal fitness levels.
These major areas are worked on repeatedly to gradually develop each individual to improve their personal capabilities and fitness. This is done by introducing students to more difficult techniques and working on speed and movement, building the level of fitness in students and enhancing their martial arts skills.

All students have to train under the Academy’s Code of Conduct. This is in place so all members understand how to behave in lessons. The club also has a child protection policy which the Academy’s Instructors are fully aware of.

Age Groups for Lessons: Kids - 4-10 years of Age, Juniors - 11-17 years of age and Adults, Adults - 18+ years.
